Clean sweep for Jones in Under 21's

Duane Jones made it a clean sweep in Under 21s events this season as he once again showed his class by winning this championship event.

After overcoming last years Welsh under 21s champion Kishan Hirani in round one, Duane went on to beat junior internationals Jerry Connors and Ryan Rowlands to reach the final.

Barry's Sam Thomas had another good tournament beating Tom Rees in round one. He then had a tough match with fellow Barry boy Matthew Johns, before an excellent win over former European under 19s champion Jak Jones put him into his first under 21s ranking event final.

In the final Sam had chances in the first two frames but could not find the form he had showed throughout the day. The consistency of Duane's all round game proved to strong as he ran out a convincing 3-0 winner.

Duane Jones and Jamie Clarke will represent Wales at the European Under 21s championship in Serbia next month. The next two highest ranked players will be invited to go (at their own expense).

Duane and Jamie will also represent Wales at the World Under 21s in August.
