Morgan Crowned IBSF World Masters Champion
Darren Morgan (Newbridge) won the IBSF World Masters (over 40s) Championship for the third time beating Australian Glen Wilkinson in the final at Sofia, Bulgaria.
Morgan produced the goods on the big stage once again dropping just two frames throughout the whole event.
Starting the best of eleven frames final well the tall Aussie comfortably won the first frame but this seemed to spur Morgan into action and he proceeded to reel off the next five frames. Wilkinson won the seventh but Morgan closed the match by winning frame eight easily.
Elfed Evans (Pwllheli) was surprisingly beaten at the last-sixteen stage but gained a nice consolation winning the high-break prize with a fabulous run of 126.
The IBSF World Championship was won by Pakistan’s 30 years old star Muhammad Asif and Wendy Jans from Belgium is World Ladies Champion for the second time.
