Morgan wins Welsh Masters Event One

Darren Morgan continued where he left off at the end of last season winning Masters Event One at Brackla Snooker Club. He also compiled the highest break of the day with a clearance of 139.

Wayne Morgan beat David Parker, Bob Watkins, Keith Thomas and John Terry to reach the final.

Ian Sargeant comfortably overcame Mal Wilcox but needed a break of 120 to get past Derek Hadigate in the deciding frame to get into the semi-final but was no match for Morgan on this occasion.

John Terry won the decider against Byron Sage then comfortably beat Dean Morgan to reach the other semi-final.
