Welsh Senior Event One
Lee Walker (Newbridge) narrowly defeated Rhydian Richards (Merthyr) by 3 frames to 2 to win the first Senior event of the season and deny Rhydian his first ranking event win.
In reaching the final Lee convincingly beat rising star Jamie Clarke (Llanelli) 3 – 0 in the quarter-final recording breaks of 59,56,54 and 40 and former Main Tour player Daniel Wells (Neath) by the same score in the semi-final.
A hard fought tussle saw Rhydian defeat former Welsh International Marcel Price (Swansea) 3 – 2 in the quarter-final and former Welsh Champion Elfed Evans (N Wales) by the same margin in his semi-final.
