Welsh Men's Event 1, Finals - Matchroom, Llanelli

1/4 final 1 - Steve Thomas had a surprise win against Jamie Clarke. All went to 2-2 level score. In the last frame Steve went ahead early on but Jamie came back to clear the colours up to the Black when he ran out of position, leaving the black lying on the side rail. A do or die effort from Steve sent the winning Black into the Yellow pocket to seal the match 3-2.

1/4 final 2 - Mike Hodge wins 3-1 after a very scrappy match throughout. Frustration from David Donovan in the final frame as David conceded the frame and match with 8 Reds left when only 28 behind. Resulted ina warning from the Referee.

1/4 final 3 - Sam Thomas wins 3-2 against Jack Bradford. Sam should have won 3-0, but let Jack back in the match after missing too many easy pots. He managed to seal the win eventually.

1/4 final 4 - After leading 2-0, Tyler Rees let things slip to allow Ben Jones to draw level at 2-2.

In the decider Ben showed his experience to steal the match 3-2.

Semi final 1 - Sam Thomas settled into his semi final with Steve Thomas very quickly. He knocked in two breaks of 31 in the first 2 frames, and a 41 in the last to secure the match 3-0. This was Sam's first Senior Final.

Semi final 2 - This match was a long drawn out affair. Mike Hodge making a return to the final stages of Welsh tournaments having been out of it for several years. He made steady progress against Ben Jones who wasn't in the best of form, but stuck to the task. With a final frame break of 72 by Mike, it was enough to clinch the match.

Final - Sam Thomas upped his game in the Final with steady progress going ahead in the early stages with Mike Hodge coming back with a 44 break. However, it wasn't enough and Sam went out a deserved winner of the Welsh Event 1 final 3-1, his first senior's ranking title.
