Match Report - East (Brackla)

There was an excellent display of snooker today with Duane Jones and Rhydian Richards qualifying for next week finals at Snooker World, Ammanford. Both players showed their match temperament in winning close matches against Kishan Hirani and Sam Thomas respectively but both matches could have gone either way.

Match Report - West (Matchoom, Llanelli)

Match one

Ross Jones/ Callum Lloyd match was very slow with both players missing some easy balls. Having arrived at 2-2 Ross raised his game to secure the win 3-2.

Match Two

Returning player to Welsh Ranking events after being away for approx 20 years Darryl James stamped his authority on his match with Mark Davies winning 3-0.

Match three

Gavin Lewis made short work of his match 3 frames to nil with less experienced Chris Lloyd.

Match Four

Tyler Rees proved that youth can win over experience by winning 3-1 over Jeff Denscombe.

Match Five

Lee Niblett started well in his match with Dale Hughes making a break of 48. With scores level at 2-2 Dale showed his International experience by claiming the decider 3-2.

Match Six

Simon Williams showed his superior game in his match with Sam Hinton with a 3-0 and a break of 39 in the process.

Match Seven

New player to Welsh Ranking events David Parker had a very tight match with Paul Thomas winning the final frame giving him a 3-2 result.

Round Two

Match One

Gavin Lewis & Ben Jones's match turned out to be a tense nip and tuck affair. With the match drawing level at 2-2 with lots of safety play. Going down to the colours in the final frame Ben managed to gain the result 3-2.

Match Two

Tyler Rees showed he was in good form by his 3-0 win over Jeff Denscombe.

Match Three

Tom Rees's match with Dale Hughes started evenly until Tom got going with a break of 56 and went onto a 3-1 result.

Match Four

Simon Williams showed good form in his match with David Parker with a break of 62 but David dug in to recover to level at 2-2. But the pressure was on David In the final frame and Simon was able to gain the 3-2 result.

Match Five

A shock result in Ross Jones running out a 3-2 winner over Jamie Clarke with breaks of 74 and 50 in the last two frames.

Qualifying Matches

Ben Jones's match with Tyler Rees was not what was expected. Both players missing opportunities. Ben showed his greater experience and went on to a 3-1 result.

Tom Rees's match with Simon Williams was a straight forward 3-0 win for Tom which included a break of 83.

The Ross Jones & Darryl James match was closer than the result shows. With Ross leading 2-1 the 4th frame went down to the pink. Darrel wanted pink and black and Ross needed the Pink. Ross then snookered Darryl behind the Black, after a miss, Ross potted the pink into the middle pocket tosecure a 3-1 win.
