Welsh Masters Event 3 - Redz, Cwmbran

With an excellent entry of 32 players, the tournament provided a good exhibition ofmatch snooker. The top seeds of Darren Morgan and Elfed Evans proceeded to the Semi-Finals but were beaten by Ian Sargeant and Paul Davies respectively.

Ian Sargeant and Darren Morgan had a close match but Ian Sargeant came through by 3 frames to 1 frame.

In the other Semi-Final Paul Davies went into a 2-0 lead but Elfed Evans levelled the frames 2 all which included a break of 102,but Paul Davies came through to book the final place.

The final between Ian Sargeant and Paul Davies was an excellent match with a superb game of match snooker provided. With the match poised at 2 frames each, Ian Sargeant went ahead with a 58 break and missed a black ball to go safe, but Paul Davies followed on with a magnificent 68 clearance to clinch the match.
