Tom Rees wraps up U21 Event 4
Tom Rees confirmed his position as the best junior player in Wales when he beat Callum Lloyd in the final of the European Championship qualifying event four at Brackla Snooker Club in Bridgend.
Rees beat Kieron Wright, Ryan Rowlands (breaks of 56,63 and 100) and Tyler Rees without dropping a frame, but after winning the first two frames he was taken to the wire by Lloyd in the final.
Lloyd overcame Jackson Page, Daniel Williams and Jamie Clarke to reach the final.
Thirteen years old Dylan Emery showed great promise when he won the first two frames against Jamie Clarke before losing a close decider.
Tyler Rees made the highest break of the day with a clearance of a hundred and seven.
National coach Lee Walker was in attendance and announced that Tom Rees, Jamie Clarke, Callum Lloyd and Tyler Rees will represent Wales at the European Under 21s Championship in Malta in March.
