Welsh Under 21s, Event 6
Jamie Clarke beat Tom Rees by three frames to two in the final of Under21s Event Six, earning himself a place in the World Championships at Bucharest, Romania in July.
After winning three events and losing in two finals Rees ended the season as the top junior player in Wales and he also heads for Romania.
Clarke beat junior internationals Ryan Rowlands, Rhydian ap Owen and Callum Loyd to reach the final while Rees overcame the very promising thirteen years old Jackson Page in a tough match, Callum Harvey in the quarters and needed all his experience to put out another outstanding prospect Tyler Rees in their semi-final.
With excellent conditions at the Matchroom, Llanelli there was a host of big breaks in the event with a great run of 101 from Clarke topping them all.
Matthew Stevens and Ryan Day were at the club practising for the World Championships and the young players watching were privileged to witness Stevens compile a fabulous break of 147.
