Welsh Amateur Seniors Championship, 2014-15
This weekend Darren Morgan became the Welsh Senior champion without losing a frame.
At the Merthyr Labour Club on Saturday he played Elfed Evans in the Semi-Final over 11 frames and came through with a 6-0 victory. With breaks of 68, 68, 61 and 60 he didn't allow his opponent to gain any momentum and came through a comfortable winner.
On Sunday he played Daniel Wells in the Final over 15 frames. Yet again he never allowed his opponent to settle and won the first 3 frames with breaks of 102, 51 and 100. Frames 4 & 5 were close but Morgan came good at the latter part of each of the frames to win both. A 63 break in the 6th frame put Morgan in an unassailable position and he pinched the 7th frame on the black. Again Wells could have won the 8th frame but Morgan came through to win the frame on the pink and clinch the Welsh Championship.
Throughout the weekend Darren Morgan was in relentless potting form and his positional play was first class so congratulations to the 2015 Champion.
