World Team & 6 Red Championships, 1st to 10th August, Pakistan
The latest UK Government Travel Advisory highlights a number of areas in Pakistan which are very high risk. Karachi is not specifically mentioned, however, the advisory states the following:
There is a high threat from terrorism, kidnap and sectarian violence throughout Pakistan. In the aftermath of an attack on a school in Peshawar in December 2014, there is a heightened threat of terrorist attacks, and kidnapping against western nationals in Pakistan. You should be particularly vigilant at this time and take appropriate security precautions.
In consideration of the safety of players, officials and representatives of the WBSA, the Committee has agreed to align with the UK Government Travel Advisory for travel guidance to Pakistan. At this current time, the WBSA Committee have therefore decided not to send any WBSA representation to the 2015 World Team & 6 Red Championships hosted in Pakistan, unless the Travel Advisory changes to reflect a significantly reduced threat.
