EBSA 2016 - 9th June Lunch
The EBSA competitions have all reached the knockout stages now, with a decent number of Welsh players still in the hunt.
In the Mens Team championships, Wales 1 (Ales/Andrew) face Sweden in the last 16. Both Masters sides made the cut, Wales 2 (Jon/Wayne) fell to a strong Belgium 1 side, whilst Wales 1 (Darren/Ian) beat Switzerland 1 in the Quarter Finals. With all Quarter Final matches now played, you'd be forgiven for thinking we were up in Leeds and not Vilnius as Wales 1 face England 2 and Ireland 1 cue up against Scotland 1.
Darren Morgan, Ian Sargeant and Jon Perring all progressed to the Masters knockout stages. Jon wasn't able to get past the last 32, Irish player Frank Sarsfield taking their encounter 3-1. Ian Sargeant took a final frame decider against RafaĆ Jewtuch of Poland to book a last 16 match with Wayne Brown of England. Darren is currently playing Lance Little of Scotland, with Ireland's Peter Donegan awaiting the victor.
