HIBSF Home Internationals 2016 - Billiards
As many of you know, the Home Internationals was contested last week. This year, for the first time in 10 years, Wales sent a billiards side to the tournament.
Peter Stanyer, Alex Donne and Eddie Duggan managed to take 4th spot out of the 7 entrants, finishing above Scotland, Jersey and Austria. Whilst Peter won 4 of his 6 matches, Alex and Eddie both won 3 each, no mean feat given the company.
Peter beat the world number 22 Darren Clarke and Alex beat the Austrian number 1 and had his first competitive 50 break. The performance of the Welsh Team was such that the HIBSF presented them with the Dave Joyce Shield, awarded to a competing team that had a notable achievement.
Congratulations gents, welcome to the fold and don't book any holidays for next August. You'll have to go back now!
