Masters Event One - Results
The Masters met up for the first time this season, with Redz Cwmbran the venue.
Thirty one over 40s competed, enjoying the excellent facilities at Redz, so many thanks to manager Jason Coughlin and his great staff.
The first round saw a few high profile casualties and both current and past WBSA Chairmen Ronnie Allen and Bob Watkins went out 2-3. Darren Morgan kicked off the defence of his rankings win last season in the second round, seeing off Andrew Isitt 3-0, a scoreline he carried through to the final in subsequent rounds.
By the semi finals, the players had been slimmed down to 3 of the 4 Home Internationals side. Darren Morgan and Elfed Evans were simply too strong for their opponents and each made the final courtesy of a 3-0 win.
The final was tighter than the end result suggests, but it was Elfed that came awy with the extra ranking points, winning 3 frames to nil, no doubt making the long journey home that little bit sweeter. The updated Rankings can be found here.
