IBSF World Mens and Masters Championships 2016 - Monday Week 2
Today was quarter-finals and semi-finals day in Doha, with three Welshmen flying the flag.
In the Mens competition quarter-finals, Andrew Pagett came back from 1-3 down to beat Mohammed Bilal 6-5 and then proceeded to destroy his semi-final oppnent, current IBSF Mens Snooker and Mens Six Reds champion Pankaj Advani by a resounding margin of 7 frames to 2, including breaks of 51, 60, 71 and 81. Andrew now faces Soheil Vahedi in the final, 8am UK time Tuesday morning.
Darren Morgan was unable to make his way past his Masters quarter-final opponent Aidan Owens, losing out in the decider of their 7 frame encounter. Elfed Evans continued his fine run though and has not yet dropped a frame in the knockout stages. The Pwllheli Potter beat Graham Beardmore in the quarters 4-0 and then Aidan Owens 5-0 to book a seat in the final. Dharminder Lilly is the last barrier between Elfed and the title, again Tuesday 8am UK time.
