Mens Event Three - Results
Last Sunday, eight players from the previous weekend's qualifying rounds met up in Ammanford, to whittle it down to a winner, who would then qualify to represent Wales at the forthcoming European Championships in Cyprus next March.
Andrew Pagett was first through the quarter finals, seeing off Matthew Roberts 3-1. Kishan Hirani beat Ben Jones 3-2 to set up a semi-final with Andrew. In the lower half of the draw, Nathan Davenport was taken to a decider by Rhys Thomas and Alex Taubman found David Donovan in fighting form, but took the deciding frame to face Nthan in the other Semi.
Andrew's run of form continued through semi-final 1, with a 3-1 win the reward for his consistency. Nathan and Alex drew their match out to the full distance, as is often the case with players who know each other's style. Nathan came through to reach his second final in succession.
The final was the shortest match of the day, Andrew opening with a fine 68 and taking the following frames comfortably to book his place in Cyprus with a 3-0 win, taking him to joint third in the rankings.
