EBSA 2017 Team and Masters

The snooker continues at pace over in Albania, with this week seeing the Team Competition and the Masters playing out.

Wales 1 (Andrew Pagett and Alex Taubman) head up Group D having dropped won their two matches 4-1, with both players getting decent breaks in the process. Wales 2 are also top of Group B, tied on points with Russia 1 but having beaten them 3-2 this morning, they ease ahead. Both Dylan Emery and Ross L Jones are making their debuts in the Team competition, but seem to have gelled together nicely, their playing styles and break building complimenting each other when playing the doubles frames and fully justifying their presence in the tournament.

The Masters have been working through their schedule today. Dean Thomas tops group B after a fine 3-0 win. Elfed Evans and Darren Morgan top Groups E and F respectively, both having two 3-0 wins so far. Keith Thomas lost his first match 2-3 and then faced Michael Judge, the 0-3 scoreline going in favour of the Irishman although the third frame was a close affair. Ronnie Allen will be looking forward to a day off before his final match, hoping to avoid the wooden spoon in a strong Group P
