IBSF 2017 - World U16 - Day 1 and 2
St Petersburg is hosting the Under 16s World Championship and Welsh hopes rest on the lofty shoulders of Dylan Emery, who is in fine form.
Dylan opened his campaign against Heorhii Petrunko of the Ukraine. Despite losing the opening frame, Dylan ran in a 101 in the second frame and in the following two frames he restricted his opponent to just 20 points, The second match was a commanding 3-0 victory against Pavel Kel of Russia.
Day 2 saw Dylan in play just once, Russian youngster Kirill Makaryan was his opponent and a 3-1 win was thoroughly deserved, with breaks of 55 and 70 keeping Dylan well placed at the top of his group.
Wednesday will be the conclusion of the Group stages, with Andrey Gladyk standing between Dylan and a full house.
