IBSF Myanmar World Mens and Masters - Knockout stages
With the group stages played out, the Welsh contingent moved forward to the knockout stages.
In the Mens competition, all three players qualifed from their groups. Matthew Roberts drew ex pro Andrew Norman and found himself 0-3 down. Digging deep he pulled back the next two frames, but bowed out 4-2. Ben Fortey lost out 3-5 to Steve Mifsud in the last 32, however Andrew Pagett despatched Steve in the next round and faces Thailand's Thanawat Tirapongpaiboon in the quarter finals.
Defending Masters champion Darren Morgan has also reached the quarter finals, having to take on Jason Tucker in the last 32 and a comfortable 4-0 win in the last 16. Phisit Chandsri is his quarter-finals opponent. Steve Thomas pulled out a 3-1 lead in his last 32 match, however his Mongolian opponent found something from nowhere and came alive in frame 5 to take the match 4-3.
Both Andrew and Darren are on as soon as play resumes on Monday 10am Myanmar time, 2:30am UK time. Live updates will be posted HERE
