Under 16s Event 4

10 players did battle at the Red Triangle snooker club Crosskeys for event 4 of the welsh U16 season. It was Oliver Briffett-Payne who beat Liam Davies 3-1 in the final., with the results on the day showing we have several fine young prospects on their way through the system. The first frame started slow before Oliver took advantage of a chance and made 43 before Liam replied in kind with a 41 in the second to level 1-1. With this young rivalry developing between the two players Oliver managed to take the third on the colours to make it 2-1 but missing a black off his spot 33 up in the fourth to win the match. Liam rallied to the colours but Oliver held on to Win the match and jump to no 2 in the rankings.

Also massive congratulations to 8 year old Ryan Davies who took the scalps of Zac Cosker 3-0 and Jacob Boyle 3-1 to get to his first semi final before eventually losing to Oliver 3-1
