HIBSF U21 and U16 Day 1
The first day of the Junior competitions played out yesterday and the results were a mixed bag for the Welsh contingent.
The Under 21s is shaping up to be a very tight competition, with only England A unbeaten. Wales (Dylan Emery, Tyler Rees, Alfie Davies and Rhys Morgans) beat England B 8-4 and narrowly lost 7-5 to England A, whom we have to hope will slip up today. Dylan currently tops the U21 player stats and lies second in the breaks table with 107.
Our Under 16 team (Liam Davies, Oliver Briffet Payne, Bradley Tyson and Oliver Bridle) lost their opening match 10-2 to the very strong Republic of Ireland A side before taking revenge on the B side with an 8-4 win. England B however nicked the diciding frame and Wales are currently 1 win from 3 matches.
Today sees the U21s take on the Republic of Ireland at noon and Northern Ireland at 6pm. The U16s play one match today, against Scotland at 4pm so plenty of practice time available.
