Welsh Amateur Ranking Event 1 Results

Alex Taubman turned on the Style with Breaks of 74 and 64 to beat Callum Lloyd in the final of the first Welsh Amateur Ranking event of the 2021/22 season.

It was a slow start for Alex as he found himself 2-1 down to Daniel Williams in the quarter final. Daniel coming within a couple of pots of causing the first upset of the day but Alex showing why he is 1 of the top Amateurs in Wales eventually coming through 3-2. In the Semi Final Alex started to find another gear as he made breaks of 58 and 70 to beat Brian Rees 3-1

Brian Rees who has made a comeback after a number of years away from the game battled his way through a tough opening match against Alan Hurley 3-1 but lost out to Alex 3-1 in the Semi Final. Matthew Roberts also came close to a defeat against Alfie Davies but came through 3-2 losing to Callum Lloyd 3-1 in the semi final. Callum Lloyd took no more than 40 minutes to dispatch Dale Hughes 3-0 with a top break of 61.
